“Nathan and Bryan spent 3.5 hours with me today, inspecting my windows and telling me about the windows they sell and install. The windows seem to be of great quality. The price was more than I was willing to invest at this time in my life. They were very easy to talk with, the only problem I had was they had to call in to the company several times to get different offers to entice me. I felt that the main company should give them more credit for their sale experience and not have them try to hard pressure the customer.”

“UPDATE** Currently still waiting for them to fix their mistake from when they finished the shower install on July 9/10th. They only responded after I wrote this review, someone came to look and said it would be a “simple fix”, he came over, took pictures of my floor and said they would replace that section, and fixed the door jam things on my shower door (which still doesn’t fix the problem),that was August 4th, 2025. We’ve even tried to negotiate with them about not needing to fix the floor, and just fix the door that will not stay closed and we have not heard from them since. Communication with them is like pulling teeth. The last communication I had with them was October 3, 2025 in which they just never replied back. For the price of installing a new shower, I honestly expected much better. The new tub they put in has left a gap between my floor and baseboards, I figured they would have measured correctly, the door is unaligned and won’t stay shut. Our house is old and I know is unleveled, but they assured us that they could make that not an issue. It’s was hard to get in contact with someone to address these issues, and it’s already been almost 2 weeks since I talked to them about what was wrong and have not heard anything back. I’m just saying if we’re paying 16k plus, I should have a tub that meets my floor and a door that is not crooked and stays shut 🤷🏽♀️”

Most residential roof replacements in Twin Falls take 1-3 days depending on roof size, complexity, and weather conditions. Idaho's climate presents unique challenges: summer heat (often exceeding 90°F) requires early morning start times to protect shingles during installation, while spring and fall offer ideal conditions. Winter work is possible but weather-dependent. Factors extending timelines include steep roof pitch, multiple valleys or chimneys, removal of multiple old layers, and structural repairs discovered during tear-off. Commercial projects typically take 3-10 days. Reputable contractors provide detailed timeline estimates during consultation and communicate proactively about weather delays.
Twin Falls' high-desert climate with hot summers, cold winters, intense UV exposure, and occasional hail requires durable materials. Asphalt shingles remain most popular due to cost-effectiveness and adequate performance, with architectural shingles offering better wind and impact resistance than 3-tab varieties. Metal roofing excels in this climate, reflecting summer heat, shedding snow efficiently, and resisting hail damage—several local contractors like Magic Valley Metal Supply specialize in metal systems. For premium applications, concrete or clay tiles provide exceptional durability and energy efficiency. Impact-resistant shingles rated Class 4 are increasingly popular given Idaho's hail risk and may qualify for insurance discounts.
This decision depends on roof age, damage extent, and future plans. Repairs make sense for roofs under 15 years old with localized damage (few missing shingles, small leaks, flashing issues), costing $300-$1,500 typically. Replacement is warranted when roofs exceed 20 years, show widespread granule loss or curling, have multiple leak points, or display sagging areas indicating structural issues. Twin Falls' intense UV exposure and temperature swings accelerate aging, so a 25-year shingle may realistically last 18-22 years here. Many local contractors like Heck Roofing and Moller Construction offer free inspections to provide honest assessments. If selling within 3-5 years, replacement significantly boosts home value and marketability.
Start by documenting damage with photos and videos immediately after a storm, noting dates and weather events. Contact your insurance company to file a claim, then schedule an inspection with a local roofing contractor experienced in insurance work—companies like Three Brothers and Omega Roofing specialize in this process. The contractor will assess damage and often meet with the insurance adjuster to ensure all damage is documented. Idaho's climate produces hail storms and high winds that commonly damage roofs, so adjusters are familiar with these claim types. Get a detailed written estimate before repairs begin, understand your deductible, and never sign a contract requiring you to pay only the deductible (this can constitute insurance fraud). Reputable contractors work with your insurance timeline and document everything for claim purposes.
Essential questions include: Are you licensed and insured in Idaho (verify license number)? How long have you operated in Twin Falls specifically? Can you provide local references from the past year? What manufacturer certifications do you hold (GAF Master Elite, CertainTeed SELECT, etc.)? What's included in your warranty—both workmanship and materials? How do you handle unexpected structural damage discovered during tear-off? What's your typical timeline and weather contingency plan? Do you handle permits and final inspections? Will you protect landscaping and property during work? What payment schedule do you require (avoid contractors demanding full payment upfront)? How do you manage job site cleanup and disposal? For insurance work, ask about their claims experience and adjuster coordination process.
Metal roofing offers significant advantages in Twin Falls' climate and represents an excellent long-term investment despite higher upfront costs ($8-14 per square foot installed versus $3-7 for asphalt). Benefits include 40-70 year lifespan (2-3 times longer than asphalt), superior energy efficiency through heat reflection (reducing cooling costs 10-25%), excellent snow shedding in winter, exceptional hail and wind resistance, and minimal maintenance. Magic Valley Metal Supply and several contractors specialize in metal installations. Metal roofs also increase resale value substantially. Downsides include higher initial cost, potential for noise during rain (mitigated by proper installation), and limited contractor expertise compared to asphalt. For homeowners planning to stay long-term, metal roofing's durability and performance in Idaho's weather extremes provide strong return on investment.
Twin Falls' climate requires proactive maintenance to maximize roof lifespan. Annual inspections (spring and fall) should check for loose or damaged shingles, worn flashing around chimneys and vents, clogged gutters, and moss or algae growth. After major storms, inspect for hail dents, wind damage, and debris impact. Clean gutters at least twice yearly to prevent ice damming in winter and water backup during spring runoff. Trim overhanging tree branches to prevent damage and reduce debris accumulation. Address small repairs immediately—Idaho's temperature swings cause minor issues to deteriorate rapidly. Remove heavy snow accumulation exceeding 2 feet to prevent structural stress, though avoid walking on frozen shingles. Many local contractors like Roof Rescue offer inspection services, and establishing a relationship with one company for ongoing maintenance ensures consistent monitoring and documentation valuable for future insurance claims or resale.
Twin Falls' high-desert climate creates distinct seasonal considerations for roofing work. Spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) offer ideal conditions with moderate temperatures and lower precipitation, making these peak booking periods—schedule 4-6 weeks in advance. Summer (June-August) sees high demand despite heat; contractors typically start at dawn when temperatures are manageable, as shingles can become too pliable above 85°F and may not seal properly. Winter installation (November-March) is possible during dry, above-freezing days, but scheduling is weather-dependent with frequent delays; some products have minimum temperature requirements (typically 40°F). Sudden weather changes common in Idaho mean flexible scheduling is essential. Most contractors communicate weather delays promptly and don't begin work in unsuitable conditions that could compromise installation quality. Emergency repairs happen year-round regardless of weather when protecting the home's interior is critical.
Comprehensive roofing warranties have two components: manufacturer's material warranty and contractor's workmanship warranty. Material warranties for asphalt shingles typically range from 25-50 years (often prorated), while premium products and metal roofing may offer lifetime coverage. However, manufacturer warranties only cover defective materials, not installation errors. Workmanship warranties from reputable Twin Falls contractors should guarantee installation quality for minimum 2-5 years, with top contractors like DaBella and Willow Exterior Renovation offering extended protection through their GAF certifications. GAF Master Elite contractors can offer enhanced warranties covering both materials and labor for up to 50 years. Always get warranty terms in writing, understand what's covered versus excluded, know the claim process, and verify the contractor will remain in business—this is why choosing established local companies with strong track records provides better long-term protection than transient contractors offering suspiciously cheap bids.
