Eagle sits in Ada County along the Boise River, roughly 10 miles northwest of downtown Boise and extending north toward the Boise Foothills. The city spans from State Street south to the river and includes neighborhoods like Eagle Hills and subdivisions stretching toward Star and Middleton to the west. Originally an agricultural area, Eagle has transformed into a primarily residential community with a mix of established families and newer developments, supported by Boise's tech sector, healthcare systems like St. Luke's, and Micron Technology's major presence in the valley. The Eagle Island State Park and Greenbelt access define much of the area's recreational character.
