“This school is a joke, especially their RN program. I work a full-time M-F job and don’t have the luxury to quit so I can focus on school. Instead, I had no choice but to find a way to juggle both. Before applying and spending money on prerequisites, I tried meeting with an advisor and struggled for months. No one would get on the phone with me or meet in person to answer my questions. When I finally got one on the phone, I was transparent about my situation and was never told the part-time program would not work with my schedule, but instead warned it would be difficult to juggle both. I already knew that going into this, so I proceeded. I completed my prerequisites and the first semester of the program while working. I was devastated to learn that the program is not truly part-time as clinicals starting trim the second semester would be during working hours. Despite pleasing with anyone I could to work with me and give me the opportunity to grab evening or weekend shifts, I was shot down. I wanted this to work so bad and busted my ass to maintain a 4.0 throughout my time at CEI. It’s insane to me that there wasn’t more transparency at the start of the program because I would not have spent my time and money at this school. Another thing to note during labs outside of class consist of instructors who are useless. I was practicing inserting a GI tube and asked that the instructor on duty assist and she simply instructed me to watch a video. It kind of explains the level of medical care you get in Idaho though. It’s horrifying some of the people in this state who go on to practice medicine.”
