Our old HVAC system was a Carrier Infinity system with multiple zones, so the setup was fairly complex and not something every contractor fully understands. “During the coldest weeks of this (2026) winter, our heating system failed. I called Carol Flynn’s Maria, the angel who manages the office, and even though every technician was busy, she arranged to have her boss, Marco, come out that afternoon to diagnose and possibly fix the problem, which turned out to be unrepairable. He thoroughly explained our options and I chose to have the furnace replaced with an upgraded, 97% efficient Carrier furnace and a new digital thermostat with wifi capability. Marco gave us an extremely fair price for the new furnace. Luis and Eddie were extremely thorough and without being directed, they upgraded everything: the mounting to the studs, all the electrical wiring, switches, PVC flue and drain lines. They completely rearranged their schedules and came out on a Saturday, spending the entire day to help us out. And in the few days we were without heat, Marco went out of his way to deliver 3 space heaters so we could stay comfortable. “A year ago, Breathable did a great job cleaning my home’s air ducts and installing an upgraded furnace filter. What a difference—fresh indoor air! Nir Biderman, the owner, is an excellent communicator before, during, and after projects. He keeps in touch with customers to share relevant information, including the timing of furnace filter changes. No matter how often I called with assorted questions, he replied promptly and patiently. So when Nir contacted former clients to say he had acquired a limited number of mini-split ductless units, I reached out immediately. He arrived the next day to assess my home (in Oakland). The pricing was better than expected, and he also let me know about an available tax credit for the 2025 tax year. After discussing three options, we decided on individual units for two second-story bedrooms—a ductless heat pump system installation that finally solved our long-running “should we do AC?” debate. “Steve from Next HVAC was a nice guy and honest too. The furnace was getting an overheating error code the past 1.5 weeks. But when he came to diagnose the problem the furnace starting working again. Instead of charging me some fictitious repair fee, he just charged me the $70 diagnostic fee which was already disclosed upfront. The furnace probably started working again because I emptied the bucket of water where the HE condensate hose was going into a few days before Next HVAC's service call. A few years earlier Innovative Mechanical came to inspect the furnace and all their tech did was remove the condensate hose from the bucket and he ended up charging me $335 for being there 1hr 15 minutes. Next HVAC was at my house maybe 45-60 minutes. Safe to say Innovative Mechanical got their money but lost a customer forever while Next HVAC gained a customer that will be calling them the next time I need a furnace repair or replacement.”

“I use B&B heating and air for my HVAC system maintenance. they are always professional, personal, and on time! what really set them apart from the “big boys” that they are small, family owned, and operated for three generations, and they really know their stuff! One other thing that really impresses me, is that they are not running specials to service the system for some ridiculous price like $39, so they can simply come in and try to upsell. today, I had them look at my 25 year-old heating system, they made a few tweaks, did some cleaning, and measured pressures and system outputs. they recommended two capacitors that were functioning well but losing their power… Out the door for a full service with the two capacitors was $206.. Money well spent to ensure the continued operation of my entire system!!”

The customer service was excellent from start to finish—from the receptionist who handled my initial call to the knowledgeable technician, Deandre P., who arrived within two hours. Unlike several other plumbing companies I contacted, Albert Nahman did not charge for travel time. They were also offering a February promotion for free diagnostics, which was greatly appreciated. Deandre P. was professional, thorough, and patient. He carefully inspected the pipes and water lines and clearly explained his findings. Although no plumbing leak was identified and the issue appears to be related to a large rainwater stream under the house, I valued the honest assessment and the time he took to investigate the problem. I was not charged for the visit. Overall, Albert Nahman Plumbing demonstrated integrity and outstanding customer service.”

“I discovered Ambient Experts using a Google search for Bryant HVAC dealers in my neighborhood. Adam recommended pulling an 8-wire thermostat cable to install a true hybrid gas-electric heating system. He finds power extenders to be unreliable and unnecessary in my case. The next morning, he came out with his crew and rewired my Carrier heat pump, Bryant furnace, and EcoBee thermostat. They did a standard dual-fuel system wiring in about 2 hours. It conforms to industry standards, and the price was very reasonable. I am happy, and believe that my system will be much more reliable in the future. I would use them for warranty service any time. I wish I had known about them when I got bids for the job.”

“We took advantage of the free design services for a heat pump heating system offered by QuitCarbon. After completing their home assessment questionnaire they gave us sizing, pricing and rebate information. QC referred us to Harry Clark Heating and Air Conditioning for a complete upgrade to replace our gas furnace. HC owner Don Marshall spent an hour and a half assessing the existing heating system in our 1908 home, answering all our questions and providing a detailed quote for a two zone system the next day. After reviewing the quote with QuitCarbon, we decided the price was competitive and chose not to get other bids. I should mention that I’m a licensed mechanical engineer and have lots of experience working with contractors. Armando Hernandez and his crew completed the install in one week and we were up and running on day 5. The quality of the workmanship was excellent. Armando addressed my many questions and was a pleasure to work with. There was an issue with a defective part in the air handler. The project manager Matt Schwoyer was able to resolve it with their supplier, and the part was replaced the following week. Everyone at Harry Clark was professional and responsive throughout the whole project. We are pleasantly surprised with the improved and consistent comfort level in our home and would recommend HC to anyone considering a heat pump retrofit.”
