“Outstanding and reasonably priced service. I drove in on an almost flat tire, and was pleasantly surprised when they could fix it with a plug. The manager , Andy, was honest and efficient. Another young man did a great job of getting the tire plugged. This business was quite busy but they managed to fit my car in fairly quickly. The waiting area was clean .”

“I was in Charlottesville for a doctor’s appointment when my car started giving me trouble. Andy and Brandi got me in right away, took a quick look, and had the issue sorted fast. A few hours later I was back on the road and headed home. They absolutely came through in the clutch.”

“Dishonest and Upselling – Be Careful I brought my car here because of a squeaking sound on my tire. Instead of properly checking, they quoted me over $1,000 to replace my front and rear rotors and brake pads. This makes no sense. My car is a PHEV with one-pedal drive, meaning I rarely use the brakes. It only has 21,000 miles on it — way too early for pads and rotors to be replaced. On top of that, the squeaking only started right after they swapped my winter tires back to normal tires. If brake pads were really the problem, the noise would be constant when braking, not rare and irregular. Clearly, they were trying to upsell unnecessary work. Because of this, I will not return to this shop. I strongly advise others to be vigilant and always demand proof (pad thickness, rotor measurement) before agreeing to any costly repair.”

“Over priced for an oil change and inspection. Tried to upsell me over $700 worth of optional/unnecessary work. The guy they had call me couldn’t even explain what the items were or the cost. Just a long list of stuff I was supposed to say yes to with no info, to increase my bill to nearly $1k for an oil change and state inspection on a car in great running condition. I asked for a quote on the additional work so that I could think about it and come back. Was given a list of services with no prices. Had to google each one to see what it was and the avg cost. I would’ve appreciated if they had noticed the one real maintenance issue (tire alignment) and given me a quote on that. It feels weird to have this kind of thing still be standard practice in 2025, and also send repeated emails asking for a review. Experience was poor, will not return, should’ve listened to every one who said don’t go there even if it is close by and just for an oil change.”

“I got my oil changed at University Tire and Auto because it was convenient to drop off my car and then go to work at the hospital. They were reasonably priced and had my car ready to go by the end of the day. I appreciated that they were flexible when I needed to change my appointment time. I took off a star because when I went to pick up my car, I noticed it was running and that the key wasn’t in the car. I asked why it was running and the gentleman at the desk said that the technician must have forgotten to turn it off and that it must have been running for 20 minutes or so. I think it must have actually been running for several hours because my gas gauge had dropped by about 100 miles from when I dropped off my car. I don’t know if it’s an attention to detail issue or just a simple mistake, but it didn’t sit well with me. I will probably go back there because it is so convenient. I just hope they won’t leave my car running for hours again.”
