The Bamboo Acupuncture Clinic

“I found this acupuncture clinic through my health insurance company's website after moving to the area, and have been communicating with their staff about my health insurance benefits for *two months* without any clarity. Communication has been slow and frustrating. As a healthcare provider myself, I understand the challenges of dealing with health insurance, but I've never in my life had a more frustrating experience in confirming whether or not they can accept my insurance. I've already determined that my insurance provides unlimited acupuncture treatments with a small copay, and I want to use those benefits, given what health insurance costs. I've been given message after message suggesting that I contact my insurance again for clarity ~ and my insurance has already told me that it's up to the provider to determine if they can accept my insurance. My insurance even provided info to me about getting the clinic to complete a single case agreement if they were in fact deemed out-of-network, and the clinic is "not equipped" to do that. It seems clear to me that they either don't know how health insurance works, or just don't want to deal with it at all. At this point, I have given up on using this clinic ~ the attitude of *just come on in and we'll see how it goes with your insurance, and if we're not in-network you'll have to pay full fees* seems a little too disorganized and economically privileged. I've never had any other issues with a provider determining whether they're in-network with my insurance or not, and the whole situation seems quite unprofessional. Definitely not recommended.”

“Tamara has treated my daughters and I for the past ten years. She has helped us through menopause, puberty, broken bones, cancer, migraines, anxiety, sleeplessness and aches and pains too numerous to count. Through it all she has been a kind and positive healer with a gentle bedside manner. She is extremely knowable, having practiced for many years. She explains things in an easy to understand way, and is patient when listening to concerns or answering questions. Her private treatment rooms and clinic are relaxing and welcoming. She uses heating pads under the acupuncture table and soft music if you desire it. Additional therapies, such as herbal support, cupping or moxibustion are offered if appropriate. Her lifestyle advice has helped guide my family toward making better choices for our own health. Tamara is the best and I highly recommend her services!”
