“(February 2019) Alex and his team at Blue Ridge Tree Service just finished a tree removal job at our house in Charlottesville and we could not be happier. We had a giant pine tree leaning badly. It was located in our backyard, kind of a tight space and difficult to squeeze men and trucks into. The tree was resting on top of a healthy tree that we desperately hoped to save. Alex and his team arrived on time, and they brought a cherry-picker type truck that was much taller than other tree companies own. The height of any tree service's cherry-picker truck is extremely important so be sure to ask everyone you are getting estimates from! Taller is better! That was a key factor in our decision to hire Blue Ridge Tree Service because a shorter cherry-picker severely limits the team's options when it comes to protecting other trees close by. The Blue Ridge team clearly had an efficient system all set up for making safe and quick work of our project. They hauled off the wood and shredded the giant stump and exposed roots to our satisfaction. An equally important factor in our happiness with this company is the fact that they had zero sales tactics. They had no interest in trying to sell us on removing other trees (we have many) nor trying to convince us to sign up for some sort of yearly appointment, which other companies (Van Yahres, I'm talking about you! Ugh!) tried to do. I was so pleased with their work that I showed Alex a couple of other trees I have concerns about and he emailed me a reasonably priced estimate. He even said "If your husband is handy with a chainsaw, he could cut down those 2 (thinner) trees himself" rather than try to convince me to have his tree service do it. All in all, I can not recommend Blue Ridge Tree Service highly enough! They are exactly what we were looking for and I am certain they will handle your tree project successfully too!
