“We hired Lamberts for a move out cleaning. They charged me for extra labor but it honestly doesn't even seemed like they cleaned anything. The house was empty so I'm not sure how they could've missed as much as they did. They DO NOT offer refunds. These pics were taken after they were done. Updated Response: Lambert listed their time of arrival at 11:50am and arrived at 11:30am. There were some items still in the house but they were removed within 10-15min of their arrival. While they did offer to do a touch-up service, this was a move-out cleaning. The new owner had taken possession of the home by the time they addressed the issues. Since they specifically offer move-out services, they need to offer refunds, even partial refunds. Both of which were denied.”

Molly Maid of Greater Lexington offers customized residential cleaning solutions ideal for family households needing regular maintenance.
Most professional cleaning services recommend weekly or bi-weekly cleanings for optimal home maintenance, though the ideal frequency depends on your household's needs. Families with children or pets typically benefit from weekly service to manage higher traffic and mess. Busy professionals often choose bi-weekly cleaning as a balance between cost and cleanliness. Monthly deep cleaning works well for smaller households or those who maintain daily tidying. Many Lexington services like Molly Maid and The Cleaning Authority offer customizable recurring plans that can be adjusted based on your lifestyle and budget.
Standard house cleaning typically covers kitchens (countertops, sinks, appliances, floors), bathrooms (toilets, showers, tubs, sinks, mirrors), bedrooms (dusting, vacuuming, making beds), and living areas (dusting surfaces, vacuuming, mopping floors). Most services include trash removal and general tidying. Deep cleaning services go further with baseboard cleaning, inside appliances, window washing, and detailed grout scrubbing. Specialized services like carpet cleaning, window washing, or move-in/move-out cleaning usually cost extra. Always clarify what's included when requesting quotes, as service packages vary between companies.
You don't need to be home during professional cleaning appointments, and many clients prefer to be away while cleaners work. Most reputable services conduct background checks and are insured, making it safe to provide access via lockbox, key exchange, or door code. Some homeowners prefer being present during the first cleaning to walk through preferences and establish trust. If you have pets, discuss their comfort level with strangers and any special instructions. Communicate your preference to your cleaning service during scheduling—they're experienced with both attended and unattended cleaning appointments.
Basic preparation makes cleaning more efficient and effective. Pick up clutter, toys, clothes, and personal items so cleaners can access surfaces. Secure valuables and personal documents in a private space. Clear kitchen counters and sinks of dishes. Put away fragile items or collections. Secure pets in a safe room or inform cleaners of their location and temperament. Communicate any areas needing special attention or rooms to skip. Ensure cleaners can access your home and know where cleaning supplies are if they're using yours. Most services appreciate a quick walkthrough during the first visit to understand your priorities.
Yes, Ronnie Rudy's Organic Carpet specializes in carpet cleaning using organic, environmentally-friendly products with a perfect 5-star rating from customers. Many full-service cleaners also offer green cleaning options upon request using non-toxic, biodegradable products. Eco-friendly cleaning is especially beneficial for families with children, pets, allergies, or chemical sensitivities. When contacting cleaning services, ask about their green cleaning products, certifications, and whether they charge extra for eco-friendly supplies. The trend toward sustainable cleaning means most modern services can accommodate green cleaning preferences even if it's not their primary focus.
Regular cleaning maintains cleanliness through routine tasks—vacuuming, mopping, dusting surfaces, bathroom sanitizing, and kitchen cleanup. It's designed for homes that are already reasonably clean and need ongoing maintenance. Deep cleaning is more intensive and time-consuming, addressing areas neglected in regular cleaning: baseboards, light fixtures, inside appliances, window tracks, grout scrubbing, behind furniture, and ceiling fans. Deep cleaning is recommended for first-time service, spring cleaning, pre-event preparation, or homes that haven't been professionally cleaned recently. Most services charge 50-100% more for deep cleaning due to the extra time and detail involved.
Start by checking ratings, reviews, and experience—services like Lambert Cleaning with 442 reviews and six years as valley favorites demonstrate reliability. Verify they're licensed, insured, and conduct background checks on employees. Compare service offerings to ensure they match your needs (recurring cleaning, deep cleaning, specialized services). Check availability, especially if you need weekend appointments. Read customer reviews for insights on punctuality, thoroughness, and communication. Request quotes from 2-3 companies and ask about satisfaction guarantees. Consider established franchises like Molly Maid for standardized training and local companies for personalized service. Trust your instincts during initial interactions about professionalism and responsiveness.
Beyond routine house cleaning, Lexington services offer various specialized options. Lambert Cleaning provides professional window and carpet cleaning in addition to home and office cleaning. Ronnie Rudy's Organic Carpet focuses exclusively on eco-friendly carpet cleaning. Several services including Home Cleaners 4 You and Edith ProCleaners offer move-in/move-out cleaning for real estate transitions. University Cleaners and Wash-O-Matic provide laundry services including wash-and-fold. Some companies handle commercial office cleaning, post-construction cleanup, and seasonal deep cleaning. Always ask about specialized services when contacting providers, as many offer more than their basic listings indicate.
Both options have advantages depending on your priorities. Cleaning companies like Molly Maid or The Cleaning Authority offer insurance, bonded employees, background checks, quality guarantees, and backup cleaners if someone's sick. They provide standardized training and structured processes but typically cost more. Individual cleaners or small operations like Git'er Done often charge less and provide personalized service with the same cleaner each visit, building familiarity with your home. However, they may lack insurance, have limited availability, and no backup if they're unavailable. For peace of mind and consistency, companies are safer; for budget-conscious customers comfortable with less formal arrangements, experienced individual cleaners can deliver excellent results.
