“My experience started out good with choosing countertops and backsplash options. Jennifer was patient and kind and very knowledgeable. The countertops went in beautifully and I loved them! Next the backsplash. The workers came in and worked fast. The older gentleman seemed to be in charge and he did a really good job above the window in the kitchen. His partner worked on the lower sections with the older gentleman seeming to check and give guidance. After they finished I had so much going on I didn't take the time to check things closely. The next day I was mortified when I saw some of the areas. Tiles not evenly placed with entire margins of the tile exposed. Tiles leaning out with a quarter inch or more on the top than they had on the bottom. When I called the owner he said the tiles I had chosen were very difficult to place and they are meant to be rustic. After talking to the owner a bit more he agreed to send the guys back out and fix the problems. I marked maybe 15 or 16 places with tape to show what I wanted to have repaired. They repaired maybe 10 of the 15 tiles I asked to be repaired. One repair left the grout obviously larger in an area and they also literally grouted the light switch cover to the wall trying to fill in a gap! They also apparently lost some of the screws that attached the light switches to the receptacles and replaced them with old beat up screws. I called again and talked to Tim the owner and he was obviously annoyed. Said the only thing he could do was come take everything out and start from scratch or come in and take out all the grout and smooth the tiles down and replace the grout. Honesty at that point I had lost all faith in them and wanted this to just be over. I asked if he would have his men come out and fix 3 of the worst areas and that would be it. They came back out and fixed the 3 areas I requested. I am terribly disappointed. I have read these tiles ARE hard to install but shouldn't an experienced tile person be able to handle it? Or with that knowledge shouldn't I have had an option to choose another tile? We have saved a very long time and were so looking forward to this renovation. Very disappointed. I do not recommend!”

“I had a small DYI project to fix a ceramic soap dish holder in my bathtub. I walked in and they gave me just what I needed and more. I got the ceramic replacement and they generously gave me the mortar and some tips to do the job myself. Everyone I engaged with had great customer service and left a great impression on me. Thank you to everyone there that helped me that day!”

“I have for many years enjoyed a marble bathroom countertop that Oliva installed perhaps in 1996. But in the course of the last 3-4 years, I noticed an unsightly brownish-grey stain had appeared. It is symmetrical and in the very front of the bowl. I went by the shop and was courteously served by the women at the counter, She said none of the workmen were available but that sometimes it is possible to do a 'wash'. I left my name and contact info. No one followed up,. That was the first of perhaps 4 or 5 attempts to talk to someone who could help. I have emailed, called and gone to the shop. No response. I am upset.”
