I used to love this practice when our first child was born. We’ve been taking our second child here since he was born in May. I had already stated I was hesitant about vaccines this time around and it seemed ok at first. We had his 4 mo appointment and the dr we saw was basically making me seem crazy for not wanting to vax but said he could continue being a patient until he was 2 years old, we went in for our 6 mo check up yesterday and all of a sudden 2 years turned to 18 months? How did we lose 6 months just like that? I was also told since we haven’t given any vaccines as of that appointment we were no longer welcome at that practice, something else I was not told about until we were told we were being discharged. Loved when Dr. Brantley was there but since she left it has gone way downhill.

We have been taking our kids to Piedmont Pediatrics since we moved to this area in 2015 and so glad we found them. They have the most knowledgeable, friendly, and professional staff. No matter what we have needed them for, sports physicals, injuries from a car accident, sprained ankles, immunizations, etc., they have been amazing! We are so comfortable with each of the doctors and my kids feel that way too. I’ll be sad when my kids are too old to take them there as I feel like they have become part of our family.

Been taking my child since they were a newborn. Great practice, great staff. They are accommodating and nurse triage line is very useful for those questions we have outside of the visits. Also great last minute visits when needed.

I’ll start off by saying I am not fully anti vax but some I do have an issue with. My wife and I decided to take our newborn (born in April) here because my boss referred us. My boss liked them because they have a nice office and have provided good care to his child with disabilities. We had three appointments and each time they kept asking us about the Hep B vaccine. I eventually told the nurse that we weren’t interested in this vaccine because the only way a person could contract hep B is through a dirty needle, sex, or bodily fluids and they don’t need to keep asking. All things our newborn will not be exposed too. Not to mention the fact there are metals in the vaccine like aluminum (common in a lot of vaccines) which I’m no doctor but can’t be good for a 9 lbs child to have injected into their system. The Doctor seemed reasonable about our choice at first and when I had conversation with him. I told him about why I don’t think it’s necessary to pump a newborn with a vaccine for a disease that’s normally transmitted through sex, needles or bodily fluid exchange. He used an example of a person with hep B shaving getting blood on a towel and then using that same dirty towel on my child… all I could think when he used that what if scenario is “really?…..”. Sure, and my child could also go ask a homeless person for their needle when they are done using it too! (Sarcasm) As we were checking out the nurse gave us their immunization policy (attached) basically saying if you don’t follow the immunization schedule they won’t provide you care. The doctor never mentioned it to me when we were conversing which seems slightly sheepish and then have his nurse come hand us a paper. So we decided not to make another appointment. I am unsure if they are just really into vaccines or maybe they get kickbacks from insurance and the pharmaceutical for percentages of their patients vaccinated. I would actually be very curious to see about that! However, this office won’t let parents make the final say and will influence your choice in YOUR child’s care and that is something no parent should have to deal with.

Maddie and her nurse were wonderful with my two girls. They took their time and did not rush us out. Very thorough exam and we did not have to wait for our apt.
